New York City debut postponed to July 26th due to theater shutdown

The Musical” was set to perform Sunday night at 54 Below, a theatre district venue known for showcasing upcoming Broadway stars. Rehearsals with New York City-based actors had begun in February and early March. But with coronavirus concerns mounting, the venue announced they would be postponing all of their events. The decision came a day after Broadway shut down to abide with public gathering limits set forth by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.Read More

The Musical” is written by Syracuse locals Shawn Forster, Dani Ryan, and Dave Reckess from Peaceful Schools Productions. The musical is an adaptation of “The Weird Series,” a collection of books written by Erin Frankel and illustrated by Paula Heaphy, both Syracuse University alumni. “Weird!” tackles the topic of bullying in schools from three different perspectives.
